LAKE DISAPPOINTMENT
In Western Australia, there is a lake called 'Lake Disappointment'. According to the story, the explorer Frank Hann named it as such in 1897. He noticed that the creeks in the area flowed inland, and he followed them, expecting to find a large freshwater lake. To his disappointment, the lake turned out to be salty, and subsequently it was named 'Lake Disappointment'.
It could be a disappointment for Frank Hann but not for the many species of waterbirds that flourished in that area. So when you are disappointed, you may look at the situation from another perspective or vantage point for we don't know if such disappointment serves another purpose.
